Patterns-Physical-Transformation.jpgA Paper by Dr Ron Perry©

The key that sets our mode of working apart from all other forms of hands-on healing is understanding that the unconscious mind is in charge. We don't have to remember to beat our hearts, or to breathe; the unconscious mind does it for us. Whenever we have cut ourselves, the unconscious mind heals the wound without us giving it a single thought. There are things we can do that interfere with the process like scratching off the scab or getting dirt in the wound. There are also those things that the unconscious mind finds helpful, like keeping the wound clean, dry, and protected. This is always the pattern. The unconscious mind is on-the-job 24 hours a day 365 days a year for life.

It keeps you healthy by monitoring what's going on and deciding if something needs to be done, or if whatever it's doing is complete, so that it can stop. Think about what happens with a small cut. Someone has to notice that blood is leaking where it shouldn't. That someone is not you, your conscious self, but rather this other mind. It's a good thing that it's not up to you because you wouldn't know what to do anyway. Certain clotting factors have to be activated. Sometimes blood flow patterns have to be altered or muscle tension patterns changed in order to help stop the flow of blood. Then only just the right amount of clotting has to be done and signals sent to stop the process at that point. Then cells need to be told to begin dividing and multiplying to make replacements for those that were damaged, regardless of whether to muscle cells, blood vessel, or skin cells of various types. All that has to be coordinated and noticed so that proper restructuring is accomplished. It takes incredible skill. We would have no idea how to manage all the variables in even this one simple physiological problem.

Patterns-Physical-Transformation.jpg This seems to be the biggest difference between the unconscious mind and the conscious mind, being able to effectively manage many variables of action at the same time. The unconscious mind utilizes the vast majority of our brain cells and involves autonomic functions as well as long term memory and habit patterns. It is running all of our physiological processes all the time, remembering to breathe, to beat our heart, in the proper rhythm, to manage the blood flow so that if we run, more blood is diverted to the muscles. If we eat something more blood is diverted to absorb nutrients from the intestines. The unconscious secretes just the right amounts of the needed hormones, neurotransmitters, and assorted chemicals so that a healthful effect is created in a wondrous process. Whenever we take any drug there are always side effects. When your unconscious mind produces the same chemical it also does whatever else needs to be changed so that just the effect it wants is produced. Many drugs are discovered by noticing compounds being produced in the body in response to a given stimulus, emotion or event. But when they copy it and give it to people there are always unwanted side effects. This means that they missed the other things whether they're chemicals or physical actions that the unconscious mind would normally produce at the same time as the compound in order to be cleanly effective. The unconscious mind is obviously a lot smarter than pharmacologists and drug companies.
